HITS Moonbow with Zoya Lotus and 2True shimmery green

Hi Lovelies. I'm just getting back into posting after finally finishing all my final year work! Hooray!!! It was a slog, but now I have a degree! All that's left is to find out what class of degree. I'm hoping it's a first. I've worked my butt off for a first, but if it's not... well... nothing I can do now! C'est la vie and all that.

So today I'm going to show you the STUNNING HITS Moonbow layered over Zoya Lotus. Moonbow is beautiful duochrome glitter. My relationship with HITS is officially healed after the hated Powerpuff Girls polishes turned me off them for a good while. This polish is just stunning. It goes from purple to green in different lights. It's fab!!!

The other nails, which are actually green but end up looking blue with the addition of navy blue stamping is Shade 49 from 2True beauty Nailwear. These polishes are super cheap and really surprisingly awesome for cheap drugstore polishes that don't even have names! 49 is a beautiful, shimmery sea green which applies really well and is really interesting to look at - quite complex really. I'm really surprised by the quality of these polishes.

I stamped with Konad Special Stamping Polish and an image from my Dashica SDP A big plate. LOVE!

Sorry about the tipwear and cuticles. My nails need some serious pampering - I just haven't had time recently with all my workkkk! Aghhr!

Thanks for looking!

I thought I'd sum my feelings about these nails up in the form of a haiku (or a senryu perhaps?)

Oh my lovely Floam
I'm sorry I stamped on you
But I'm not really

^_^

You can purchase Floam from Ninja Polish, and please check out Floam's fabulously talented creator, Amy at I'm Feeling Nail-venturous

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 14 (and 15) - Mr. Blue Spring Pastels

Hello! I've cheated again because I am THE WORST HUMAN BEING (who likes hyperbole). Day 14 and 15 (maybe?) were Spring Pastel and Mr. Blue sky, so I did a spring pastel and incorporated into it a blue sky. I'm sorry! In my defense I'm working on a bunch of stuff including my dissertation at the moment, so I don't feel TOO bad :)

I used:

Thumb -

OPI - Kiss me on my tulips
Konad Special Stamping Polish - White

first finger -
Model's Own - Lemon Meringue Pie
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Red

middle finger -

Orly - Lucky Duck
Barry M - Matt White

Ring finger -

Barry M - Peach Melba
Orly - Lucky Duck
OPI - Kiss me on my tulips
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita

Little finger -

China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
a-england- Excalibur

I hope you like it and I hope you aren't too cross with me for cheating. On a more exciting note, me and my friend went to see Presidents of the USA last night and GOT TO HANG OUT WITH THEM! YEAH!

Have a lovely weekend.

Orly - Lunar Eclipse and guest nails (my boyfriend!)

Hello!

I was feeling inspired by some pictures I took of a super clear night sky in Gambia, plus I've been wanting to use Orly - Lunar Eclipse for ages and ages! Ugh is so beautiful it hurts. Its a stunning blue with superfine blue and purple glitter so it changes in the light from blue to purple. I couldn't capture that very well in my pictures.

I just love how beautiful and glittery it is!!! The stamping is done with a-england - Excalibur which is my all time favourite silver stamping polish! Loveee it! :) This mani actually made its first appearance on the hand of my boyfriend, who's currently in an 80's hair metal band, complete with Bret Michaels facial expressions, spandex and mullet wigs (they TOTALLY don't take themselves seriously!). He wanted the nails on one of his hands painted 80's style so I willingly obliged:

Tee Hee. Apparently he got lots of compliments!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring CHallenge - Day 11 - Pastel Patchwork

Hello lovelies! I hope you've had a good week, I've had a fabulous time in L'Afrique. It was beautiful and also very eye opening. When doing something as simple as walking down the street with a bottle of water is a symbol of your wealth and privilege, it's very humbling.

Anywho! I have missed a lot of the spring challenge - too much to catch up with, bearing in mind all my schoolwork and schizz so I'm just gonna go directly to day 11 (which was yesterday - oops!) - pastel patchwork!!! Yay!

Unfortunately my nails and fingers totally suffered with the heat and with the nature of what we were doing so my nails are super short right now. So sorry about that! :) I kind of like them though! Here are my pastel patchworks!

I used:
Models Own - Pink Blush
Models Own - Lemon Meringue Pie
Barry M - Mint Green
Nubar - Baby Sprout
Models Own - Beth's Blue
China Glaze - White On White
China Glaze - Sweet Hook
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Pink
Seche Vite

The stamping pattern is from my new Dashica SdP A Big stamping plate which is A-MAZING!  Check them out here.

Thanks for looking! Sorry I missed so many of the challenges and so many of your blog posts. I'm catching up slowly but surely!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 4 - Spring Water Marble!

Day 4. Water Marble. Two words that strike fear into the hearts of bloggers everywhere (except the really clever ones who can do perfect beautiful water marbles :))

This is my first attempt at a water marble. I wish I'd used stronger colours - the blue totally washed out and went all grey. I kind of like it but it's not the effect I was going for.

Wonky left hand shot

So I was about to take it off because I felt a bit 'meh' about it... and I had an idea... why not stamp on it? Et voila!

Another wonky left hand shot - I cannot take pictures of my left hand. I can't even pose my left hand. My little finger won't go straight - it sticks up all ridiculously. :)

And now I love it! It reminds me of 90's graffiti - like a shirt that Will Smith might have worn in the Fresh Prince! Haha.

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
Models Own - Pink Blush
Chick Nails - All A Twitter
Models Own - Peach Sherbert
ELF - Twinkle
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Black
Seche Vite

Check out all these other lovely bloggers also taking part in the challenge:

Haul Post! (picture heavy!)

These are things I've bought in the past week or so, with the exception of the Zoya True collection which I bought last month and took forever to arrive! Most of this arrived today - it was pretty much the most exciting post ever!!

From left to right (is that right? I'm so rubbish at knowing my left from my right!) Models Own - Beetlejuice Aqua Violet, Barry M - Mint Green, Barry M Croc Effect, Nails Inc Magnetic Effect Polish - Whitehall, Nubar - Baby Sprout.

I got the Models Own and the Nails Inc for FREE with some credits I had on my littlewoods account, which is great because the Nails Inc should have been something like £14 which is much more than I'd be willing to spend on one bottle of nail polish, magnetic or no. The Nubar is a shade I've been looking for FOREVER that I finally found on Ebay. I'm not sure what I think of the Croc effects yet - I'm not into crackle effects (sorry!) but I'm kind of intrigued by the croc effects. It's neater I think and a bit cooler looking. I swatched it on a nail wheel and I kinnnddd of like the effect. I'm tentative.

Models Own bottle shot! Mmmm duochrome!

OPI - Lunch at the Delhi. Another colour I've wanted for ages. I like the very punny name too! (sorry!)

The Zoya True Collection! Hooray! I only bought this because I wanted Cho. Ha. From left to right - Farah, Cho, Bevin, Skylar, Lotus and Tru. Yum!

Zoya Chloe, Maisie and Opal.

Chick Nails! I love these! I've wanted them for so long. They delivered super fast to the UK too! From left to right - All a Twitter, Gavie Green and Gr8 Grey Own. Check out the super cute bottles! I also got a sweet little chick nails decal that's on my helmer. Yay!

How cute is this bottle?

a-england legends! I got, from left to right - St. George, Dragon, Order of the Garter, Ascalon, Princess Tears.

Close up bottle shots! St George

Dragon

Order of the Garter

Ascalon

Princess Tears

These are so insanely beautiful. I'm totally in love with them!

And finally: My Dashica SdP - A stamping plate! I couldn't take a good picture of this, so sorry about that. I kept seeing the reflection of my ceiling light in my camera and got really confused. I actually thought for a minute that my lens was wonky and pointing towards the ceiling. Then I realised it was a reflection and felt like a massive idiot. Fortunately no-one saw, but then I told you guys. Ha.

Phew! That was a lot of pictures. I hope you enjoyed this post!!
