Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 25 - Favourite Pastel Blue

Hallo! So I'm really behind with these but I'm going to keep posting them anyway... in my own sweet time haha :) I'll get there eventually. Today was your favourite pastel blue and I chose Look Beauty Nail Pop - Vintage which is just the most gorgeous pale blue colour. I think these kinds of blues are one of my favourite colours.. I have a LOT of pastel blues, but the formula, opacity and hue of this one is just perfection.

I've wanted to do rainbow nails for ages so this was a perfect opportunity!

These pictures are not good. Sorry about that... my camera had a bit of a hissy fit. It's okay now but by the time it was fixed I'd taken these nails off.

I used dotting tools in different sizes for the clouds and stamped the rainbow with Konad Charming Nails Q1 plate and then coloured it in with various polishes.

I used:

Look Beauty Nail Pop - Vintage
China Glaze - White on White

for the little finger and thumb:

a-england - Excalibur
a-england - Merlin

for the rainbow:

Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Big Hair
China Glaze - Sunshine Pop
China Glaze - Gaga for Green
Orly - Lunar Eclipse
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - BMX Bandit

Please check out these other SUPER FABULOUS bloggers who are much more up to date with their challenge manis than me! Tee hee :)

Purple Fairy Crumpet Spring Challenge Day 23 - Spring Stripes!

Evening lovely ladies! I hope all you British ladies are enjoying the sunshine! It's sooo beautiful here, I've been able to pull out my lovely summer dresses! Hooray!

Today's Spring Challenge was Spring Stripes!

I've wanted to do this mani for ages and it didn't translate onto that nail like I saw it in my head. It looks kind of retro which I think is cool, but it's not really my style. :) I used Zoya Cho from the Zoya True Collection which is a super beautiful yellow/peachy toned beige with a really pretty hidden shimmer which you can JUST ABOUT see in the photos. I really love it. I have quite a pale yellowy skin tone so it's just the right colour for me .

The stripes didn't go as neat as I'd like. BOOO. I use sticky labels because then you can just peel the shapes you've cut out before you need them, but I was a bit careless with this because my boyfriend was hassling me to play Space Crusaders O.o

I used - For the Base:

Zoya - Cho

Stripes from thumb to little finger:

China Glaze - Dance Baby
Orly - Frisky
Accessorize - Ultra Violet
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Hip Hop
Chick Nails - Gavie Green

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 20 - Large Flowers

Hello!

Day 20 was Large flowers! I really love this mani! I don't actually want to take it off. :) I was inspired by P&K's The Blue Roses which I've mentioned before but it's definitely worth a mention again since it has to be the most perfect shade of blue ever! YUM!

I used:

China Glaze - Ahoy! (It doesn't have an exclamation mark in the title of the polish but I can't in good conscience write 'ahoy!' without an exclamation mark - you understand :))
P & K - The Blue Roses
Sinful Colors - Amethyst
P & K - Electric Dreams
Konad Special Stamping Polish - White and Black

I added the little gems with Seche and an orange stick. The roses are pretty similar to these by the fabulous Emerald Sparkled. I didn't copy them, but I remembered them later and I can't in good faith post these without crediting her :)

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 16 - Spring Gradient

Okay first an apology. My cuticles are revolting! I have been working so hard on my studies that I've been neglecting them a bit and it shows. Secondly, My clean up is AWFUL. My clean up brush died and I haven't yet got a new one. So I'm really sorry.

Today's challenge is spring gradient. I didn't want to do a sponged gradient, so I decided to do a stamping gradient instead. This is the first time I've tried it and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

I also added some tiny blue bullion to the little flowers which I really like.

The purple is A-england - Guinevere over which I've stamped with A-england - Princess Tears (I initially wrote princess teats and giggled about it for a good ten minutes!). I LOVE the effect! It's so subtle. The light is rubbish here at the moment so I couldn't capture it well enough but I definitely suggest you give it a go because the effect is awesome! The image is from my beloved Dashica SDP A plate which I cannot stop using! I LOVE IT SO! Okay enough waffle... PICTURES!

That last picture is horrible. I'm sorry.

I used:

A-england - Guinevere
A-england - Princess Tears
Nubar - Baby Sprout

for the stamping:
Orly - Purple Pleather
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Light Blue
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Light Pink

and the obligatory coat of Seche :)
Please check out these other lovely ladies participating in the challenge!

Thanks so much for looking!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 14 (and 15) - Mr. Blue Spring Pastels

Hello! I've cheated again because I am THE WORST HUMAN BEING (who likes hyperbole). Day 14 and 15 (maybe?) were Spring Pastel and Mr. Blue sky, so I did a spring pastel and incorporated into it a blue sky. I'm sorry! In my defense I'm working on a bunch of stuff including my dissertation at the moment, so I don't feel TOO bad :)

I used:

Thumb -

OPI - Kiss me on my tulips
Konad Special Stamping Polish - White

first finger -
Model's Own - Lemon Meringue Pie
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Red

middle finger -

Orly - Lucky Duck
Barry M - Matt White

Ring finger -

Barry M - Peach Melba
Orly - Lucky Duck
OPI - Kiss me on my tulips
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita

Little finger -

China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
a-england- Excalibur

I hope you like it and I hope you aren't too cross with me for cheating. On a more exciting note, me and my friend went to see Presidents of the USA last night and GOT TO HANG OUT WITH THEM! YEAH!

Have a lovely weekend.

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 13 - Tulips!

Hi! So today is day 13 (maybe? I lost count) of the Spring Challenge. Today (or yesterday but we won't talk about that... :D) is Tulips! I really really liked this mani but my photos just don't do it justice, which is a bummer. I particularly like the coraly-red colour which is Barry M - Pink Flamingo with Pop Rocks - Scalper layered over the top. Pop Rocks Scalper is a super sexy holo glitter that's kind of like a smaller version of the glitter in China Glaze - Techno, in a lovely, squidgy red tinted jelly base. YUM! It turned Pink Flamingo into a gorgeous, luminous coral red colour that makes me look super tanned (obviously I still look pasty white - but humour me.)

For the accent nails I used Chick Nails - All A Twitter and Chick Nails - Gavie Green for the tulip stems, and the same coraly red colour for the tulips themselves.

I'm sorry these are such crappy pictures. It's such a grim day, we've got no light and I'm a bit bummed that the pictures don't do my nails justice. Never mine. Be sure to check out all these other lovely bloggers taking part in the challenge. Their tulips are incredible!

What do you think of these - have you ever tried pop rocks before?

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring CHallenge - Day 11 - Pastel Patchwork

Hello lovelies! I hope you've had a good week, I've had a fabulous time in L'Afrique. It was beautiful and also very eye opening. When doing something as simple as walking down the street with a bottle of water is a symbol of your wealth and privilege, it's very humbling.

Anywho! I have missed a lot of the spring challenge - too much to catch up with, bearing in mind all my schoolwork and schizz so I'm just gonna go directly to day 11 (which was yesterday - oops!) - pastel patchwork!!! Yay!

Unfortunately my nails and fingers totally suffered with the heat and with the nature of what we were doing so my nails are super short right now. So sorry about that! :) I kind of like them though! Here are my pastel patchworks!

I used:
Models Own - Pink Blush
Models Own - Lemon Meringue Pie
Barry M - Mint Green
Nubar - Baby Sprout
Models Own - Beth's Blue
China Glaze - White On White
China Glaze - Sweet Hook
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Pink
Seche Vite

The stamping pattern is from my new Dashica SdP A Big stamping plate which is A-MAZING!  Check them out here.

Thanks for looking! Sorry I missed so many of the challenges and so many of your blog posts. I'm catching up slowly but surely!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 4 - Spring Water Marble!

Day 4. Water Marble. Two words that strike fear into the hearts of bloggers everywhere (except the really clever ones who can do perfect beautiful water marbles :))

This is my first attempt at a water marble. I wish I'd used stronger colours - the blue totally washed out and went all grey. I kind of like it but it's not the effect I was going for.

Wonky left hand shot

So I was about to take it off because I felt a bit 'meh' about it... and I had an idea... why not stamp on it? Et voila!

Another wonky left hand shot - I cannot take pictures of my left hand. I can't even pose my left hand. My little finger won't go straight - it sticks up all ridiculously. :)

And now I love it! It reminds me of 90's graffiti - like a shirt that Will Smith might have worn in the Fresh Prince! Haha.

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
Models Own - Pink Blush
Chick Nails - All A Twitter
Models Own - Peach Sherbert
ELF - Twinkle
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Black
Seche Vite

Pruple Crumpet Fairy Spring challenge Day 3 - Small Flowers

Hello!

Hi! So today is day three of the challenge. There wasn't a challenge on Thursday. It's nice to have a break :) I am SO excited to show you these because I am SO happy with them! This is Models Own - Beth's Blue which is THE most beautiful forget-me-not blue. I am totally in love with it.

Sorry about the kazillions of pictures. I really love this manicure! I did the stripes using sticky labels cut into thin strips and the flowers with a dotting tool.

The black I used is a-england - Bridal Veil which is no ordinary black... OH NO! It's a beautiful black holo! I went over the blue with a coat of ELF - Twinkle which is my favourite glitter for that subtle tiny glitter effect. If you look at the close up shots, I managed to get a piece almost perfectly in the centre of a tiny flower. Ahhhww. :)

Please check out my fellow challenge-taking bloggers for their take on tiny flowers:
