Polka dot scallops with Barry M Denim!

Hallo! How is everyone? I hope you're all okay. I'm super happy today because I finished my dissertation! HOORAY!!!!

For these nails I used Barry M - Denim as a base. It's a super duper beautiful shimmery navy and I loveeee it. The formula is excellent too. I freehanded some scallop shapes (which my friend said looked like boob! >.<) using Orly - Old School Orange, 17 - Woo Me, China Glaze - Gaga For Green, Models Own - Pink Blush and Hot Looks Collection 2000 - Lemon Soda. Then I did some polka dots with China Glaze - White on White. I kind of love it :)

My pictures are a bit poop. I don't know why. I only realised after I'd taken these off so apologies. :)

What do you think? I loveeee them

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 26 - The Easter Bunny!

I'm just taking my time with these challenges. I hope you don't mind that I'm behind. I'm just gonna do them as I get to them. I've got two weeks until deadlines, I hope you understand :)

So this is my Easter Bunny Mani! HOORAY!!! I did this entirely with polishes from my most recent swap which you can check out here. I used Manglaze - Lesbihonest, Manglaze - ILF and Nerdlaquer - All of Time and Space. Lesbihonest (gosh I love that name) is a lot more purple-y than I expected it to be and I just LOVE it. ILD is super duper stunning and All of Time and Space - well what can I say. There are no words to describe how beautiful it is! YUM. Some of my bunnies went a bit wibbly. It might have been the gin.

And just for you guys - the REAL Easter Bunny!!!

As always, check out these other fabulous bloggers:

Interview Nails - Essence The Dawn Has Broken and A-england Iseult.

Hallo! So I had an interview the other day and I wanted something that was pretty but still 'me' (I figured if they didn't like me expressing myself through my nails it probably wasn't the place for me, right?)

I used Essence - The Dawn Has Broken and A-england - Iseult. I am totally in love with both these polishes. A-england Iseult is so soft and pretty and the subtle shimmer just makes it perfect for me. I wanted The Dawn Has Broken for AGGGESSS before I finally got it from a blog sale over at Vintage Musings of a Modern Pinup (check her out.. she's awesome!). It really satiates my lust for grey... the little bits of black glitter in this polish make it amazing!

I got a place on the course I was interviewed for so they must have worked :)

Nerdlaquer - Cyance Friction

So today I'm going to show you one of the polishes I got in my epic swap!

This right here is Nerdlaquer - Cyance Friction and oh my goodness me is it beautiful. Cyance Friction is a beautiful Cyan/teal jelly with purple shimmer, blue square glitter, copper hex glitter and tiny circular copper glitter too. It's so beautiful! The formula is an absolute dream!!! Look how neat my application is... I didn't even have to do clean up! This is pretty much down to the formula. I also love the names of these polishes. As a warhammer quest-playing, star trek-loving, comic book-reading self confessed nerd these really appeal to me :)

I bet you think I stamped all over this right?... I didn't! I wore it alone! And... didn't do anything to it. That's how much I like it!!!

You can get Nerdlaquer from Amanda's Etsy shop although I think it's closed at the moment. It's well worth trying to get in there as soon as a new shipment comes in because they go pretty quick.

Do you own any Nerdlaquers?

Thanks for reading

blogger appreciation award

The wonderful Katee at A Girl and her Polish has passed this award onto me. Hoooorayyy!! Thankyou Katee! Make sure you guys check out her blog. It's awesome :)

The Rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award with their blog link in your post.
2. Answer the following 4 questions.
3. Give the Blogger Appreciation Award to other bloggers.
5. Let the blogger know you awarded them.

The Questions:
1. How long have you been blogging?
2. What the 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?
3. What types of blogs do you like to follow/read?
4. What is 1 thing you would like to improve on as a blogger/on your blog?

1. I've been blogging since November 2011.
2. I guess I just wanted to share my nail polish obsession with like minded people Most of my friends think it's a bit weird and aren't really interested when I'm like 'OMG look at this polish I got!'... so it's nice to be able to share.
3. I follow a lot of nail blogs, some beauty and fashion blogs - especially thrifting blogs and some yummy food blogs. I also have a select couple of science blogs because I'm a big science geek.
4. I would like to improve my pictures. I think they're okay, but I often can't find very good light and I have no editing software other than iphoto. I'll have more time for it when I finally finish all my uni work and can start figuring out how to take better pictures.

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 25 - Favourite Pastel Blue

Hallo! So I'm really behind with these but I'm going to keep posting them anyway... in my own sweet time haha :) I'll get there eventually. Today was your favourite pastel blue and I chose Look Beauty Nail Pop - Vintage which is just the most gorgeous pale blue colour. I think these kinds of blues are one of my favourite colours.. I have a LOT of pastel blues, but the formula, opacity and hue of this one is just perfection.

I've wanted to do rainbow nails for ages so this was a perfect opportunity!

These pictures are not good. Sorry about that... my camera had a bit of a hissy fit. It's okay now but by the time it was fixed I'd taken these nails off.

I used dotting tools in different sizes for the clouds and stamped the rainbow with Konad Charming Nails Q1 plate and then coloured it in with various polishes.

I used:

Look Beauty Nail Pop - Vintage
China Glaze - White on White

for the little finger and thumb:

a-england - Excalibur
a-england - Merlin

for the rainbow:

Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Big Hair
China Glaze - Sunshine Pop
China Glaze - Gaga for Green
Orly - Lunar Eclipse
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - BMX Bandit

Please check out these other SUPER FABULOUS bloggers who are much more up to date with their challenge manis than me! Tee hee :)

Thanks for looking!!!

Something a little different...

Hello!

Gosh I am so sorry about my lack of posting. I'm gonna be a post-a-maniac as soon as I've finished my degree.

Today I wanted to show you something a bit different...my lovely friend Davey makes the most beautiful shoes. He paints them with acrylics and then seals them so they're all waterproof and wearable and they're just so cool. He does custom pairs with any design you like for a super reasonable price, plus he's going to be branching out into children's shoes and T-shirts soon too. Here's a little taster of what you might find over on his blog.

Ahhhhh they're so cute! He's going to make some for me soon. I want spotty ones with dinosaurs on :) His company is called Barefoot Clothing and it's gonna be getting bigger pretty soon! So get in there early!

Sorry there are no nails in this post. They'll be coming up as soon as I've finished this paragraph of my dissertation... in about six years. Wahhhh.

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 24 - Easter Eggs!

Hi! I am a bad blogger. I've missed lots of these challenges. My life is hectic right now!

So... I kind of went interpretive with the easter egg theme and just used it as an excuse for a cool skittle :D I really wanted to use my new Rimmel - Strawberry Fizz so that's what I did! I stamped the strawberries with Konad Red and then added the dots and coloured the leaves green. Strawberry Fizz actually SMELLS like strawberries! It's awesome. I was making people smell my fingers. Which sounds odd.. but they're used to it. :)

For these I used:

Thumb and middle finger -

Rimmel Strawberry - Fizz
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Red
China Glaze - White on White
China Glaze - Gaga For Green

First finger, ring finger and little finger -
Model's Own - Beth's Blue
Konad Special Stamping Polish - White
China Glaze - Prism
Sinful Colors - Unicorn
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Royal Purple

Yummy!!!
Check out these other wonderful bloggers and fellow challenge-ees!

Thanks so much for looking xx
