The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze and some stripes!

Good afternoon lovelies! Today I'm gonna show you a mani I did with the other polish I ordered from The Hungry Asian and one of my biggest lemmings - Sneeze Breeze!

I HEART this polish. It's that sort of matte glitter, similar to Floam that I just love. It has teeny black and blue hex glitter and it's super dense. I really love it. I layered it over Sinful Colors - Why Not? which I got as a birthday gift from the lovely Carolina from colores de carol. Check out her blog if you haven't already. Her nail art is amazing!

I also got OPI - I Vant to be Alone Star in the same package from Carolina. I wanted this for AGES!!!! I am a total sucker for shimmery greys and I just love this one. I did two layers of IVTBAS and then used sticky note labels to mask off sections and used Sinful Colors - Amethyst to create stripes. Finally I added some little bows from a Hello Kitty nail sticker set I got from ebay. A lot of coats of Seche later (and for sneeze breeze that was A LOT! And it was still bumpy - but it's beautiful so it doesn't matter :)) and voila.

Pictures!

Don't you hate when your camera shows up tiny polish bubbles? They freak me out 'cos they look like holes. I remember seeing a nail art tutorial for making decals that look like little rocks in a stream and one of the comments mentioned that it looked like holes and that they were freaked out by holes in the skin - those little bubbles freak me out for the same reason. Is that weird? Probably :)

What do you think??

I hope you're having a lovely day, whether it's raining and you're tucked up inside or it's blazing hot and you're out enjoying it - or something in between.

Thanks for looking.

Pruple Crumpet Fairy Spring challenge Day 3 - Small Flowers

Hello!

Hi! So today is day three of the challenge. There wasn't a challenge on Thursday. It's nice to have a break :) I am SO excited to show you these because I am SO happy with them! This is Models Own - Beth's Blue which is THE most beautiful forget-me-not blue. I am totally in love with it.

Sorry about the kazillions of pictures. I really love this manicure! I did the stripes using sticky labels cut into thin strips and the flowers with a dotting tool.

The black I used is a-england - Bridal Veil which is no ordinary black... OH NO! It's a beautiful black holo! I went over the blue with a coat of ELF - Twinkle which is my favourite glitter for that subtle tiny glitter effect. If you look at the close up shots, I managed to get a piece almost perfectly in the centre of a tiny flower. Ahhhww. :)

Please check out my fellow challenge-taking bloggers for their take on tiny flowers:

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Number 1 - Valentines!

Happy Valentines Day!

Or in our case - Happy Steak Day!

This is my first entry for The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge - valentines/love. Unfortunately this didn't survive my procrastination cleaning - you know, where you're like 'I am definitely going to get this work done but first I'm going to beeswax the furniture and alphabetise my DVDs'? I didn't feel like being all pink and girly (although I have LOVED the pink and girly nails I've been seeing) so I did something a bit grungy instead. Pink and grey is pretty much the combo I love most - so here is my valentines mani!

Here's what I used:
Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - It's Alive!
Chick Nails - Gr8 Grey Owl
China Glaze - Purple Panic (I know it's CALLED purple panic but to my eyes it's definitely pink!)
a-england - Excalibur (for the stamping)
Seche Vite

Me and my boyfriend are so similar to eachother. We're into pretty much the same things and as such, all presents we buy eachother are presents that we'd want for ourselves too! This is what I got him for Valentines (steak) day:

YEAHHH! Mick Foley's greatest hits and misses! And here's what he got me:

YAYYYY!!!! I still haven't seen this so I'm excited. That makes my Ghibli collection up to date! Hoorah!

I hope you guys have had a great day, whether you're in a relationship or not :)

Thanks for reading

Spotty, purple and stripy!

Hello lovelies :)

So after my big fat nail fail I had to do something else otherwise my nails would have been NAKED! So I did this:

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - White On White
a-england - Lady of the Lake
a-england - Camelot
China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
Seche Vite

I also used some green striping tape across the middle. They're a bit wonky but I kind of love them!

a-england Lady of the Lake has the most amazing shimmer. I love it so much. I'm going to use it as a full mani next I think. I ordered Dragon and Order of the Garter from the Legends collection and then saw some swatches of St. George and had to order that too! Whoops! :) I can't wait until they arrive!

What do you think?

Dots, Stripes and 80's Hearts!

Hello!
I opened my first advent calendar door last night! HOORAY! It's getting exciting! My four year old is super excited about Christmas this year. It's the first year he's REALLY understood what's going on and that makes it a million times more exciting. Here he is dressed as a star for his Christmas play:

So for these nails I used Barry M - Matt White as a base on the heart nails, and Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Bubblegum on the pointer and the ring finer. Then on the thumb, middle finger and little finger I used China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy, Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Parma Violet, China Glaze - For Audrey and China Glaze - Tuned Up Turquoise. I drew the hearts with a teeny tiny brush, and used a dotting tool for the dots. I wasn't sure about the colours at first; they're not as 'pretty' as I would normally like, but they've kind of grown on me - they remind me of an 80's music video - maybe something by Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff, or Mel and Kim! All I need now is some curly shoelaces, some cycling shorts and a really big T-shirt and I shall be the very spirit of the 80's!

For the pointer and ring finger I layered over the pink with a coat of E.L.F - Twinkle and then when that was dry, I used sticky labels cut into thin strips to create the stripes. A lot of people use scotch tape for stripes, but I always found that even over a really dry coat of Seche Vite scotch tape still has a tendency to pull the polish off, so I use sticky labels - like the ones found in stationary shops. I find them easier because you can cut everything you need out before you start and then just keep them on the backing paper until you're ready to use them. Putting polish over them softens up the sticky too, so they don't pull off any of the underneath polish when you remove them. I used some nail stickers I got from ebay on the stripes and topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite. I kind of like them! What do you think?

I hope you're having a good advent! Is it too early to crack out the mince pies and mulled wine? Thanks for reading! :)
