Neon Ruffian with stars!

Hallo lovelies. How are you all? I'm good. I'm going to End of the Road festival in TWO DAYS and I'm SERIOUSLY excited :)

All of the polishes in this mani were a birthday gift from one of the lovely ladies in my Birthday club group. I love being in a birthday group! It's so much fun. I used Sonia Kashuk - Smoke and Ashes for the base - this is seriously the COOLEST silver I own. It's so shimmery and is kind of like a foil but is made up of teeny tiny microparticles that make it shimmer and glisten like no one's business. Then I did a coat of Sinful Colors - Dream On which my camera has utterly failed to capture. It's a lot more pinkish and a hell of a lot more neon that it looks here. Over the top of that I used Wet and Wild - Hollywood Walk of Fame which is different coloured stars, bar glitter and very sparse square glitter in a clear base. This was a bit of a PITA to be honest, but it's always the way with polishes with big glitter like this, right? The stars are a nightmare to get out and the ends poke up so I ended up scratching myself with my nails. Still, they look pretty right? :)

I really, really like ruffians! I hated them when I first saw them. I thought they looked weird but then I did one and on my own nails I was like... ahhwww yeah this is awesome! Has that ever happened to you? You hated something until you tried it? I love it anyway :)

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 21 - Subtle Glitterbomb!

This is my not so subtle 'subtle flakie spring glitterbomb'! 

This is definitely NOT the kind of thing I would usually do - I'm normally a more of a cutsie kind of a girl and these are a bit demure for me. Saying that, I kind of love them! I bought Models Own - Indian Ocean on a whim and used it in this manicure and it's just stunning. I tried it on its own first and it's probably too sheer to wear alone, but I layered it over Urban Decay - Graffiti which is a vintage purple/blue duchrome and just LOVED it! Indian Ocean is a blue/pink glass flecked duochrome from Models Own's beetlejuice collection. It's described as 'Indian Ocean, a calming, iridescent blue with soft pink undertones' but the flakies have a gold shimmer in some lights too. It's lovely. 

On the two accent nails, I sponged Accessorize - Dream and then stamped with my favourite silver polish for stamping - a-england - Excalibur. I added some little rhinestones and sequins to make it look all ethereal and underwater-y and distinctly un-subtle. :)

Phew! That's a lot of photos! I was trying my best to catch the colour shift, but alas photography is not yet my strongest suit!

Snowflakes and Glitter!!!

So after putting my Christmas decorations up today I was inspired to do some mega Christmassy nails. I used:
Barry M - Matt White
Chine Glaze - Ruby Pumps
Miss Sporty - Unnamed Purple/lilac
China Glaze - For Audrey
China Glaze - Lorelei's Tiara
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Fruit Loop
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Fruit Salad
Beauty UK - Black

I used a tiny brush and dotting tools for the stars, snowflakes, dots and the reindeer, and some little rhinestone hearts from ebay on the ring fingers.

I think my photos are getting better! I could do with some protips though! Maybe I will ask Father Christmas for photoshop. In the meantime, does anyone know of a free editing alternative?

Hello!

My name is Aimee and this is my first ever blog. I've been a lurker on lots of different nail and beauty blogs for a while - I sometimes comment but mostly I'm a bit shy so starting my own blog is a big, scary step! I hope I don't do too badly! So for my first post i'm going to show you some pretty sparkly christmas nails I did.

I'm afraid these aren't particularly good pictures because I had yet to read the instruction manual on my lovely new camera when I took these pictures. I used lots of different polishes: Elf Pearl for the base, then I sponged on some Miss Sporty Silver foil, then some Saffron silver glitter which is an AMAZING glitter with large and small hex pieces, then a teeny tiny bit of Claire's blue glitter polish and finished with Nabi Nail Laquer Star Glitter number 47. They look SO sparkly in real life. After I took these pictures I tried mattifying them and that looked rubbish. Boo.
