Models Own Pastel Pink and Sinful Colors Zeus with Stamping

Hi!

Thanks again to everyone who entered my giveaway. And thankyou to everyone who told me about their favourite band! And don't worry, if you told me about your favourite brand that was okay too. I'm always interested to hear about people :) The reason I wanted to know about people's favourite bands is that I'm a musician, I love music and I like to find new music. I discovered a lot of new artists thanks to you guys so thanks very much!!!

This is a mani I did a while ago using Models Own - Pastel Pink, a-england - Excalibur and Sinful Colors - Zeus. I got Zeus in a polish swap from the wonderful Katee at http://www.agirlandherpolish.com and I think I will love her for the rest of my life for it :) When I'm on my death bed and someone asks me if I have any last words I'm gonna be like 'I will never forget a girl and her polish for Sinful Colors Zeus'... or something like that :) Anyway. Enough rambling. ONTO THE NAILS!

I stamped over the purple with Konad Special Stamping Polish in pink and it came out a bit translucent which was disappointing at first bit I actually quite like the effect. I stuck some little nail art circles onto the pink using Seche Vite and did some little dots with Zeus. The image on the purple nails is from my DRK A plate and the image on the pink is from one of those random fauxnads. It's just a leaf image which I stamped in different places on the nails. I kind of like the effect.

Bears and Hearts with Revlon Grape Fizz

Hello. Just a quick post today, that's all I have time for. Booo.

This is Revlon - Grape Fizz which is a beautiful purple jelly with all kinds of shimmery flakie goodness going on in it... oh and it smells like grapes! Well...a sort of approximation of grapes which is actually nothing like grapes but is still kind of awesome anyway.

I did some nail art over the top of it, using China Glaze - White on White, China Glaze - Electric Beat, A-england - Lancelot and Model's Own - Sophie's Pink. These pictures are after a couple of days so please excuse the tipwear.

What do you think?

Teal Tuesdays! - Glitter Freestyle - inspired by Toki Doki!

It's teal tuesday!

It's actually Wednesday - but shhh. :)

This was inspired by the super cute Japanese brand Toki-doki which I LOVE! The BEAUTIFUL teal glitter is the completely FABULOUS China Glaze - Atlantis which is just utterly stunning. Look at all that beautiful glitter. For the accent nails I used Butter London - Disco Biscuit, Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Candy Floss, a-england - Excalibur and a-england - Galahad. Yummy!!!!

Look at the pretty blue sparkles in disco biscuit!

Please check out these other wonderful lovers of everything teal!

Mismatched muted mani - My favourite things!

So after my awful splatter fail, I did a mismatched mani which basically consists of all the things I like to do best on my nails - Bows with little heart rhinestones, pink with gret, one glitter nail and stripes! This is my nail zen.

Ahhh that's better :)

I used:

Thumb:

China Glaze - For Audrey

Forefinger:
A-england - Iseult
A-england- excalibur

Middle Finger:

Chick Nails - Gr8 Grey Owl
A-england - Iseult
China Glaze - White on White
Models Own - Pink Blush

Ring Finger:
China Glaze - Full Spectrum

Little Finger
Zoya - Cho
Models Own - Pink Blush

I used Full Spectrum from the CG Prismatics collection which I 'accidentally' bought all of... whoops. They're AMMAZING! When I have time I'll try and do swatches of all of them.
What do you think of this? I like the muted tones.

Thanks so much for looking

Orly - Lunar Eclipse and guest nails (my boyfriend!)

Hello!

I was feeling inspired by some pictures I took of a super clear night sky in Gambia, plus I've been wanting to use Orly - Lunar Eclipse for ages and ages! Ugh is so beautiful it hurts. Its a stunning blue with superfine blue and purple glitter so it changes in the light from blue to purple. I couldn't capture that very well in my pictures.

I just love how beautiful and glittery it is!!! The stamping is done with a-england - Excalibur which is my all time favourite silver stamping polish! Loveee it! :) This mani actually made its first appearance on the hand of my boyfriend, who's currently in an 80's hair metal band, complete with Bret Michaels facial expressions, spandex and mullet wigs (they TOTALLY don't take themselves seriously!). He wanted the nails on one of his hands painted 80's style so I willingly obliged:

Tee Hee. Apparently he got lots of compliments!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge Day 4 - Spring Water Marble!

Day 4. Water Marble. Two words that strike fear into the hearts of bloggers everywhere (except the really clever ones who can do perfect beautiful water marbles :))

This is my first attempt at a water marble. I wish I'd used stronger colours - the blue totally washed out and went all grey. I kind of like it but it's not the effect I was going for.

Wonky left hand shot

So I was about to take it off because I felt a bit 'meh' about it... and I had an idea... why not stamp on it? Et voila!

Another wonky left hand shot - I cannot take pictures of my left hand. I can't even pose my left hand. My little finger won't go straight - it sticks up all ridiculously. :)

And now I love it! It reminds me of 90's graffiti - like a shirt that Will Smith might have worn in the Fresh Prince! Haha.

I used:

Sally Hansen No Chip Base Coat
Models Own - Pink Blush
Chick Nails - All A Twitter
Models Own - Peach Sherbert
ELF - Twinkle
Konad Special Stamping Polish - Black
Seche Vite

Check out all these other lovely bloggers also taking part in the challenge:

Neon Pink Leopard and OPI Ds Sapphire - oohhh!

Hello!

You might notice I've changed my blog around a bit. Do you like it? I've been wrestling with it for like.. TWO DAYS! Me and HTML do not get along, so I ended up having to use a template to stop my columns overlapping. Very annoying! Anyway - onto the nails!

For these I used:

Sally Hansen - No Chip Base Coat
China Glaze - Purple Panic
Orly - Ancient Jade
OPI - DS Sapphire
A-england - Excalibur (for the stamping)
Seche Vite

Holo-deliciousness!

I tried out some swatches of DS Sapphire over some different blue/greens. From left to right - DS Sapphire on it's own (ooh), DS Sapphire over Orly Ancient Jade (ahhh), DS sapphire over Collection 2000 Hot Looks Blue Hawaii, DS Sapphire over Collection 2000 Hot Looks Show off and finally, DS Sapphire over Orly Lunar Eclipse (eeehhh). I went with Ancient Jade because it made it slightly green, but how amazing is it over EVERYTHING? You can just see a smidge of OPI Fresh Frog Of Bel Air in the picture. I can't wait to use that one!

Thanks for reading, I hope you're having a great day!

Snowflakes and Glitter!!!

So after putting my Christmas decorations up today I was inspired to do some mega Christmassy nails. I used:
Barry M - Matt White
Chine Glaze - Ruby Pumps
Miss Sporty - Unnamed Purple/lilac
China Glaze - For Audrey
China Glaze - Lorelei's Tiara
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Fruit Loop
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Fruit Salad
Beauty UK - Black

I used a tiny brush and dotting tools for the stars, snowflakes, dots and the reindeer, and some little rhinestone hearts from ebay on the ring fingers.

I think my photos are getting better! I could do with some protips though! Maybe I will ask Father Christmas for photoshop. In the meantime, does anyone know of a free editing alternative?

Dots, Stripes and 80's Hearts!

Hello!
I opened my first advent calendar door last night! HOORAY! It's getting exciting! My four year old is super excited about Christmas this year. It's the first year he's REALLY understood what's going on and that makes it a million times more exciting. Here he is dressed as a star for his Christmas play:

So for these nails I used Barry M - Matt White as a base on the heart nails, and Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Bubblegum on the pointer and the ring finer. Then on the thumb, middle finger and little finger I used China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy, Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Parma Violet, China Glaze - For Audrey and China Glaze - Tuned Up Turquoise. I drew the hearts with a teeny tiny brush, and used a dotting tool for the dots. I wasn't sure about the colours at first; they're not as 'pretty' as I would normally like, but they've kind of grown on me - they remind me of an 80's music video - maybe something by Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff, or Mel and Kim! All I need now is some curly shoelaces, some cycling shorts and a really big T-shirt and I shall be the very spirit of the 80's!

For the pointer and ring finger I layered over the pink with a coat of E.L.F - Twinkle and then when that was dry, I used sticky labels cut into thin strips to create the stripes. A lot of people use scotch tape for stripes, but I always found that even over a really dry coat of Seche Vite scotch tape still has a tendency to pull the polish off, so I use sticky labels - like the ones found in stationary shops. I find them easier because you can cut everything you need out before you start and then just keep them on the backing paper until you're ready to use them. Putting polish over them softens up the sticky too, so they don't pull off any of the underneath polish when you remove them. I used some nail stickers I got from ebay on the stripes and topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite. I kind of like them! What do you think?

I hope you're having a good advent! Is it too early to crack out the mince pies and mulled wine? Thanks for reading! :)

Loco Roco Nails!

So this is my first attempt at the kind of nail art where you actually draw things. I know a lot of people like to use acrylic paint, but I found it worked okay with polish. I used Barry M Matt White for the base coat and a whole LOAD of other polishes that I mixed in a pallette to get the right colours. They were mostly Collection 2000 Hot Looks polishes, which I LOVE! They're a bit teeny, but they're pretty cheap so they're great value for money and the colours are really pretty.

For those of you who might not know, Loco Roco is the BEST GAME EVER! You're a little blob - or a loco roco - and you bounce around eating flowers to get more blobs that are kind of... inside you (okay this sounds strange but it really isn't... well it is, a bit... but it's good!) and you sing songs that make no sense. It's wonderful! The songs are great too! So, without further ado, behold: Loco Roco nails!

I did all the details with a teeny tiny brush and some dotting tools and finished with a coat of Seche Vite to even everything out. I hope you like them!

Now i'm off to watch the new episode of The Walking Dead! AHHH ZOMBIES!

Thanks for reading.
